Back before dark
Polly works out the sunset time where you finish. If you would arrive in the dark it tells you before you leave, with the time you need to leave by.
What it does
The calculation runs on the phone, with no signal. If your estimated arrival is after sunset, or less than 30 minutes before it, the summary says so, for example "Arrival around 18:57, after sunset (18:27)".

- It suggests the latest time to leave to arrive in daylight.
- Or it offers "Shorten the loop" or "Faster on Road", which recalculate the ride.
- While riding, if the estimated arrival slips past sunset, a box and the voice tell you.
When it helps
In autumn and winter, when it is dark by five. A dirt track in the woods at night is a different ride, and if you stop for one more view the warning on the road reminds you how much is left.
How to use it
Nothing to switch on: the warning shows in the summary of a route, a loop or a trip day.
- Plan a route, a loop or a trip.
- If you would arrive in the dark, the summary shows the sunset time and when to leave by.
- Leave earlier, or tap "Shorten the loop" or "Faster on Road".
Good to know
- It is an astronomical estimate. Clouds, valleys and woods get dark earlier.
