«Scenic» route
On tarmac, next to the fastest route the app offers one with more bends, minor roads, passes and viewpoints. It keeps away from motorways and does not eat up your whole day.
What it does
With the Road surface, the results include a "Scenic" alternative. It looks for bends, minor roads, passes and viewpoints, with no motorways, and stays within 1.5 times the time of the fastest route. Its card explains the choice by counting passes, viewpoints and bends.

- For the app, a bend is a change of direction of at least 35° within 100 metres.
- With the Road surface the "Recommended" row is "Scenic".
- With "Enjoyable roads" on, loops also prefer bends and minor roads, and never use motorways.
When it helps
When you are out on a road bike or a big adventure bike and you do not care about arriving first, you want the good road. A Sunday over the Apennine passes instead of the straight main road, for example.
How to use it
Settings › Default route › "Enjoyable roads" on. Then surface "Road" and "Find routes".
- Check that "Enjoyable roads" is on in Settings. It is on from the start.
- Plan a ride somewhere with the Road surface, or switch to it with "Change surface and difficulty".
- In the results tap "Scenic" and read on its card how many passes, viewpoints and bends it has.
- Tap "Ride".
Good to know
- "Scenic" only exists with the Road surface. With Mixed and Offroad you get the usual route alternatives.
- If the scenic route takes more than 1.5 times the fastest one, the app does not offer it.
- Passes and viewpoints come from OpenStreetMap. Where they are missing from the data, the app cannot count them.
