Polly Track

Fuel range and petrol stations

Enter your bike's tank, consumption and reserve. Polly tells you whether you will make it and where to fill up before a long stretch with no petrol stations.

What it does

From your tank figures Polly works out how many km you get on a full tank before the reserve. Then it checks the petrol stations along the route and finds the last one before a stretch with none.

Settings, Fuel range: fuel warnings on, 5 litre tank, 8 km/l consumption, 1 litre reserve; 32 km on a full tank before the reserve.
Tank, consumption and reserve.
Route summary to Varese Ligure, Mixed and easy dirt: range 32 km on a full tank, 10 petrol stations on the route, last fuel for 24 km, fill up at Shell at km 23.
In the summary, where to fill up.
Riding on the SP566, bear right in 8.1 km, box "Last fuel for 24 km, Shell in 8.1 km", 47 km/h with a 70 limit.
While riding, the station before the long stretch.
  • The summary shows your range on a full tank, how many petrol stations are on the route and where to fill up, for example "Last fuel for 24 km: fill up at Shell (km 23)". If a stretch is longer than your range, it says so.
  • While riding, 15 km before that station a "Last fuel for … km" box appears and the voice announces it.
  • If the estimated fuel will not reach the next station, the warning becomes "Fuel for about … km".

When it helps

On enduro bikes with small tanks, and on rides in the hills or the mountains where there are 60 km of dirt and no petrol station between two villages. Better to know before you leave the tarmac.

How to use it

Settings › My bike › "Fuel range". It stays off until you set it.

  1. Switch on the fuel warnings and enter tank, consumption and reserve, in litres or km.
  2. Plan a route: the summary shows range and petrol stations.
  3. Ride. The last fuel box appears 15 km before the station.
  4. After filling up, open ☰ › More and tap "Refuelled", so Polly starts again from a full tank.

Good to know

  • It is a cautious estimate: load, surface and speed change consumption.
  • Petrol stations come from the offline maps (MIMIT and OpenStreetMap), within 200 m of the road.
  • No fuel prices and no opening hours.
